My 1st Rodeo!

Colton and I went to a rodeo tonight in Nephi with his family and I had so much fun!  This was my first time going to a rodeo so I didn't really know what to expect but I really liked it.  The bull riding and barrel racing were probably my favorite part. I hated when they roped the baby cows though so I didn't watch that part. It was really good though and I had a lot of fun.  There was an one arm bandit that came out with two buffalo and had trained them to go on top of the trailer. It was fun to go and experience something new and I think I would definitely go again!

4th of July

This morning Colton got up early to run the 5k in town and I am proud to say that he did a great job!  He is not a runner and he doesn't like to run either but he ran it in 22 minutes! I guess you can accomplish anything when you put your mind to it!  I love him and I am so proud of him. I just wish I had a picture of him crossing the finish line in 4th place out of 200 runners!  He took 1st in his age bracket. I always tell him he should have ran cross country in high school but I guess the other sports took priority.  After his big morning though he crashed on the couch for a little bit.

Dust Storm

There was a dust storm that came by the farm today and it kind of a freak thing.  The wind was blowing so hard you couldn't even see anything and then when it finally settled down we drove around to see if it did anything and it sure did.  It blew off part of the shed but thankfully it didn't do much to the turkeys or hurt them.  It's pretty sad when this is the most exciting thing that happens here.

Costco's Adventures

I just want you all to know that I went shopping at Costco for girls camp all by myself.  So, I'm loading the cart up and as things are beginning to pile up I have someone ask, You going to Lake Powell?" No, but I wish all this food was for Lake Powell! Then probably about a half an hour later, I have someone say, That sure is a lot of food there!"  Like what is that suppose to mean?  Do I not look old enough to have some growing teenage boys that eat a ton?!  Maybe one day, but I sure hope I don't regularly spend that much money on groceries when my kids are growing up because that was a lot of money! I get out to my car and unload everything and figure I better just check my list.  Good thing I did because I forgot four things on it so I had to go back in!  What a tiring trip to the grocery store though!  It is tough work to go shopping especially for so many girls but I'm excited for camp!

Tiffany's Wedding

Another cousin of Colton's got married today in the Manti temple.  I am so blessed and grateful for the opportunity that Colton and I have from deciding to go to the temple.  I am so happy for you, Matt and Tiffany!  Their big day turned out wonderful and I got to experience Price, UT for the first time ever!  Colton says it is the armpit of Utah but I don't know why because I liked it there!
Congratulations!

Turkeys!

Today Colton's dad got new turkeys and the church farm where Colton works.  I guess it was quite a process in getting them here.  The company usually gets turkeys from a hatchery in California but the trailers broke down so they sent some turkeys from Iowa.  When the trucks got there they started pulling the crates out and there were dead ones in the majority of the crates.  I didn't even know the turkeys came in crates that were just stacked one one another, so I learned something new! As everyone was pulling the crates out they pulled out they few that were alive and put the dead ones aside.  It was really interesting to see how everything worked and how fast they all were.  So, Colton's dad didn't end up with as many as he was suppose and the church farm wasn't even close to their numbers so they had to have another truck come. Hopefully things go a little bit better next time!

Anniversary

I worked from 6 in the morning until 6 tonight and I come home to a nice cooked meal that Colton and Jake made for me.  The charge nurse at the hospital found out it was my Anniversary and she told me to go home!  But, I told her I didn't have any plans and that I would just stay.  Colton and Jake were so nice to cook me dinner and I am so thankful for the both of them.  I couldn't have asked for anything better and I love them so much!

Jake's Visit

Jake came to visit for two weeks and I loved it! He came to paint the trim on Grandma's house and he did such a great job.  He is really good at painting and I think he enjoys it, at least for the most part.  He would get up early and paint until Colton got off work and then they would go have some fun!  They went horseback riding, rode the four wheelers, shot some rabbits, we went to the temple and we just all had a blast!  I loved spending time with him and can't wait until he can come back and visit! I think he had a really good time and he sure likes spending time with Colton.  Love you and miss you already.

Oops

Colton and I were out with his parents tonight getting the water share for the cows and he decides to jump over the fence.  I wish I had my camera when he jumped over because he got caught on the barbwire fence and ended up right on his face. It was really funny in the moment but I was so mad he ripped his pants!  They were his new work ones and of course he decides to ruin them!  I told him he still had to wear them. He said maybe we could make them into shorts and wear them out to the farm.  I doubt that will ever happen... It's a good thing I love him!

Taylor's Big Day

Today was a big day for Taylor (Colton's cousin) and Lane.  They got married today and we couldn't be happier for them.  I love weddings, I don't know why, call me crazy but they are a good thing and make me really happy! Her wedding was country, western and turned out really cute.  Weddings are always crazy busy but I think that's part of the whole experience and I enjoyed helping out.  Congratulations Lane and Taylor!

Not the best picture ever but it's all I had!

Jaxton's birthday

Yesterday was Jaxton's 5th birthday and he was so excited!  He had a party that night and he just loved it. He had a pirate party and he was so excited for his treasure hunt. I think that was his favorite part besides opening presents. Colton's mom gave him this jumbo ball that you blow up and crawl inside. All the"kids" had a blast including Colton!
I think we are going to have to get one of these  things for him!
