St. George Trip

This weekend we went to St. George for a wedding and this was the first time I had ever been there! It was hot there and I was loving it!  Colton and his mom thought it was way too hot but it was perfect!  I could totally live where it is warm all the time like that.  The wedding was good and then we did a little shopping and that night we went to the Tuacahn to see Aladdin.  That was the first time I had ever gone to a play there and it was really fun.  It was a fun little trip to just get away for a day or two.  I think I could visit there again for sure!

FIRE!

A fire about five miles north of us started yesterday at about 5 pm.  I was really fascinated because I have never been this close to a fire before so I was kind of excited.  I took a lot of pictures because who knows when I'll be this close to a fire again. A lot of other people were taking pictures too, I guess a fire is a BIG deal here and is very exciting!  The fire is staying north of us and heading east so it won't be coming to us unless the wind decides to change direction.  There were some small towns that had to be evacuated last night and as of this morning the fire is only 4% contained and has burned over a thousand acres.  This year is bad for fires.  There are already so many and so many more to burn I'm sure.  Colton's dad has some land and turkey sheds up in the hills just south of the fire now and hopefully they will be safe!  It has been crazy to watch the fire and the dark smoke going up into the sky.  It's amazing how quickly they burn and how long it takes to put them out so it is going to be burning for a while still.
The start of the fire.

Later on that night about 8pm.

It was cool to see the flames once it got dark.

Fire today.  Colton took me up in the hills so I could get a good picture!

Girls Camp 2012

A success!  I was fortunate to be a Girls Camp leader this year and I was so excited!  I always loved girls camp when I was in Young Womens and now I was able to be a part of it again!  I had the best lady to work with and together we made Girls Camp a success!  We planned for hours...went shopping for the food for hours...packed everything up, unpacked everything, and packed everything up again which took hours...but I loved it!  I wouldn't have changed anything about it.  Except for maybe doing some food prep before hand and having food scrubbers to wash the dishes and a few little things like that but other than it went well.  Next year we will both be more prepared and know what to expect since neither of us had ever done this before!  But, it was great and loved being up their with all the girls.  I cannot wait until next year!
Our wonderful group!
We lit floating lanterns. So much fun!

Best Camp Leaders ever right here!!

Our skit and they made me be the main part! Wasn't too excited.

Oh just living in the country

I'm on my way home from work this morning and this is what I encounter!  Oh how I just love these little lambs.  Only in Sanpete county do you have sheep walking in the road!
