I made this Christmas wreath last night and just had to show everyone my great work! I love to do crafts and make things, especially for my house since I don't have much! It just takes me a long time to get them done since I'm such a perfectionist but I still enjoy it! Now I just have to get an over the door hanger for it so I can hang it on our front door. I just love Christmas time!

Christmas Cheer
My wonderful and (favorite) Aunt Donelle sent us a package a few weeks ago. In the mail we received this notice saying we had a package and that we had a parcel post that was due. It said we had to pay $9.94 and I didn't do anything with it until today because I thought it was strange to have to pay for a package. I was thinking this is the weirdest post office ever! We have to pay for a package? What's up with that? Come to find out that the package made it all the way from Arizona to Utah with no postage! Imagine that. So, Colton and I had to pay the 9 dollars to get our package. Haha but it sure makes a great story! Love you Donelle!
We loved the wonderful Christmas presents inside... |
Even if we had to pay for them! Love you Auntie!! |

Surgery Time
Colton had an appointment with a hand specialist Monday afternoon and this morning at 8am we went in for surgery. I patiently waited in his room for 3 hours while he was in surgery and watched some tv to help pass the time. The doctor wanted to go in and try to repair some nerves that may be damaged. He came in and talked to me after surgery and come to find out once he was in there only saw one nerve that was nicked and figured it would be better to just leave it alone. He did make some incisions to help get more movement in his thumb and rearranged some tissue. So, hopefully it works and his thumb will heal fast! We will be going back in a week to get the big bandage removed.

Poor people have poor ways
Colton and I have been in our apartment now over a month and we still do not have any furniture for the living room. We have a nice tv to watch but the ground is not always so fun to watch it on because it's not too comfortable. But, Colton sure did get all snuggled up to watch the cooking channel? He said they were demonstrating how to cook good turkey, imagine that! Needless to say, he was asleep within 5 minutes! Maybe one of these days we will have enough money for a nice couch to sit on. But for now, I guess the floor will just have to do.

Time for Another Wedding
Colton and I made yet another trip to Colorado, and hopefully our last for this year. This was my fifth trip this year to Colorado and his third. I feel like I have been there so much! But, it's always fun to see my family and friends because I sure do miss them a lot. We went for my Dad's wedding on Saturday and it turned out really well. I could tell he was really happy which made me happy. Colton and I surprised him Friday night at the dinner because I originally told him that we wouldn't be there till later because of school. We left school early and showed up just in time! I have now seen my Dad's side of the family 5 times this year and love it! I wish we could always see them that much. It's just because of all these weddings! Who would have ever thought that 3 of us would all get married in one year, that's just crazy!

Here we go again
So, Saturday Colton cut his hand open. What's new? I swear that kid is always getting hurt! I have never met someone before that gets hurt as much as he does and I really don't like it. I sure hope he takes things down a notch now because I really don't want any more trips to the ER. You would think he would learn but apparently not! I guess he just likes all the attention! (wink, wink) He was out at the farm cutting a piece of wood and somehow cut his hand in the process. He doesn't really know how he did it, he just did. But, the guard wasn't on the blade and I think that is probably something that should go on now so he doesn't cut the whole finger off next time. It took 2 hours and 21 stitches. I think this is a new record for him and hopefully the last! We are all surprised he didn't get any tendons because the cut was really deep but I am sure thankful he didn't. That just would have made things so much worse! This boy has got to be more careful.

Witches' Night Out!
Nina took me and Kylee to Gardner's Village to this Witches' Night Out thing. We didn't really know much about it but Nina and Kylee were going all out for it. They were trying to decide what to wear, if we should paint our faces or not, and they insisted to make hats for this thing. I said I will make a hat but I'm not dressing up. That's really not my thing! I did wear some LONG fake eye lashes and those sure did bug me! But, we met some friends up there and we all had so much fun! We ate dinner and watched this really good musical skit that was pretty funny. This was the first time I had ever been to Gardner's Village and to the Witches' Night Out. It is something that they do every year and we decided to check it out this year and see what it was all about. It was a fun night and glad that I went!

Alex turns 17!
This past weekend I was able to go to Idaho for fall break and spend some time with my family. Colton went hunting and I didn't want to stay home by myself all weekend so I thought going to Idaho would be the perfect idea! It was so great to spend time with Grandma and Grandpa along with the rest of the family. My aunt Danielle was wanting to can some spaghetti sauce so Grandma and I helped her do that on Friday. Then, I went to the mall with my cousin Ashlyn and her mom. That night we had a great little birthday part for ALEX!! She turned 17! We had cinnamon rolls for "cake" and I loved it! Then we went to support the Snake River High School football team. Ha I sure don't miss high school that's for sure. Saturday, we ALL went out to pizza for more birthday celebration! After dinner we went back to Danielle's and carved pumpkins. This is a tradition in our family and this was my first year to be a part of it! I had so much fun! I always love spending time with my family and I'm glad I was able to spend this past weekend with them. Grandma and Grandpa sure do take good care of me.

Our FIRST Apartment!
Last Tuesday we moved into an apartment next door and I was quite excited! We will just be living here until our apartment at the farm gets done. It's getting close, Ill have to post some pictures of their progress. But, our apartment now has two bedrooms and 1.5 bath and is pretty big just for the two of us but we both love it! It has been really exciting moving all of our stuff and getting everything set up and put together. Colton had to work so I had to do almost everything myself but I really didn't mind! I do appreciate him carrying all of the heavy stuff though, it's great having a man in the house! They are good for some things =) I worked on unpacking everything and it took me about 11 hours and of course I did it all in a day because I couldn't stand having a mess. So, needless to say I was VERY tired that day. I am so happy to have everything moved and unpacked though. I just can't wait till I pack it all up again in just a month or two and do it all over again! It has been fun decorating and putting pictures up. I just don't want to put too much up because I will just have to take them down again in just a little bit. But, for now I'm happy and excited to have a little place of our own!

There is always a first for everything!
So, for the past couple of days Colton has really been complaining of his hair and that he needed a haircut. His mom usually cuts his hair but she has just been so busy lately. (She is getting ready for a yard sale on Saturday.) I told Colton that I would cut his hair but I had never done it before. Colton was so brave though and said that I could cut his hair. I was like oh this couldn't be that hard now could it?! Well, it turned out a success! I just wish someone was taking my picture while doing it because I had some pretty crazy ways of doing things. I just kinda winged it and it looks pretty good! Too bad I didn't have a picture of his hair before so we could compare, oh well.

1st Day of School!
Today was our first day of school and I was pretty excited to say the least. It has been a LONG summer so I was excited and looking forward to school starting. I was jumping and skipping to our first class and Colton said I was being like a little kid. Well, I was just a little excited to go to class but Colton obviously did not feel the same way. So, I stopped because I think I was embarrassing him. Colton and I had Microbiology and nutrition together today. I also had an intro to poetry class. I didn't really want to take this class but my counselor just kind of put me in it! Classes went well today and I don't think this semester is going to be all that bad!

Boondocks!
We went to Boondocks Saturday night with the whole family. We all had a blast and loved spending the night all together. The Blackham bunch partied it up at Boondocks for 3 hours which included, laser tag, go carts, batting cages, bumper boats, and mini golf. After Boondocks, we went to dinner and then cold stone for some ice cream. We all had a blast and loved each others company. I said we should do this more often since his dad was paying!! But, it was good to get out of the house for a night and do something all together as a family.
I wasn't too happy because Colton was beating me! |
Everyone got so soaked in the bumper boats. |

Park City
On Saturday, Colton and I went to the Park City Outlets for a little school shopping. We met Kristopher and Kylee up there and went to lunch together and shopped a little with them. I went up there thinking we would find some great deals but I went home with nothing! I didn;t buy one thing and that is not like me! But, I guess this whole being married thing and having no money is really hitting me. I do know how to save money! After shopping, we rode the alpine slide and the coaster. That was a blast! I had so much fun spending time with Colton and having something fun to do. We haven't spent a lot of time together this summer so Saturday was a great day to say the least. We didn't take a lot of pictures of our adventures, that's one thing I need to work on!

Colton's 24th Birthday!
We had a great day of celebration! We started the day off with church and then came home and had homemade cafe rio (which was delicious)! I made a cake and a cheesecake for Colton because I just love him so much. I should have made 2 cheesecakes because they were a big hit! We had a great day with family though and just had a relaxing afternoon, except for a brotherly fight after dinner. I don't know what set them off but what is a birthday without a fight, right?! I was a little nervous but there is nothing I could really do about it. Boys will be boys.

My bro got married!
On July 22, Jake and Alex got married for time and all eternity in the Denver LDS Temple! Colton and I were able to share this special day with them and were so grateful for this opportunity. This day was so spiritual and perfect in every way, I am sure Jake and Alex could not have asked for more. I loved seeing and visiting with all of the family. The last time I saw all of them was for my wedding and that day was just kinda crazy so I didn't have much time to sit and talk with them. I just can't believe my brother and I are both married now. It has been amazing these past few years to watch him grow and become stronger. I'm so grateful for Jake and his decision to marry Alex in the temple. I am so happy for him and love them both! Hope they live happily ever after!

Ruby had PUPPIES!
So, Colton has a dog, Ruby, that stays out at the farm. We found out recently that she was going to be having puppies soon. We just weren't quite sure when she would have them. This past week, I have been out there everyday visiting her and making sure she had food and water. Colton told me early this morning that he forgot to feed her so I was wanting to go out there and take care of her. All day today I had a feeling I needed to go see her and we were going to go but then we would get busy with something else. Finally, tonight we made it out there to feed her and once we got there we heard these little puppies. Ruby had 7 little puppies! They are the cutest things and I have never been around puppies before so I thought this was really neat. I have been wanting a dog lately. I have really missed my old dog, Allie, she was put down last November. I loved that dog and she was my best friend. So, I'm glad I now have 7 little puppies that I can play with and watch them grow! I am so excited!! I just love puppies! This sure made my week just a little bit brighter.
I'm the happiest girl!! |
I think I'll keep this one. =) |

Happy 4th of July!
My Mom was able to come to Moroni Sunday afternoon to come celebrate my birthday and the 4th with the Blackham's! She made my favorite dinner, Sweet and Sour chicken. I usually only get this on my birthday because it takes 2 hours to make but, it is so worth it. Thanks Mom for the yummy dinner and banana bars!
We had a big BBQ on the 4th and had quite the party! There were lots of friends and family. Colton was so nice to take my Mom and I to go see the horses and we even went on a little ride! Then, we came back and had some fun playing the game corn hole. It was a great day and the fireworks were so fun to watch. I love the 4th and so happy I was able to spend it with my family!
