Trying This Again

So, our last dog, Bo, got ran over by Colton a few months ago down to the cows and it was really hard on me. I never knew I could get so attached to a little puppy only after a few short months. The first few weeks after that I was like we are never going to get another dog I can't do it again! But, then Preston, the same guy we got Bo from, had two more litters of puppies on his farm. When I would go with Colton to check the turkeys we would always stop and play with them. We had one picked out that we really like but I was still like no, we don't need another dog! We talked to the Peruvians and they said that one was already claimed but that we could have a red and white one. I thought the red and white collies were really cute but if we were to get another one I really wanted another black and white one. So, we left and just came to a conclusion that we would have to wait. Well, we stopped again today just to play with them and the one Peruvian brought this one black and white one out and said that we could have him. So, we gladly took him with us and we were so happy because he was the one that we had picked out! So, we are going to try this puppy thing again. Hopefully this one stays with us a little longer. We love him already!

Payson Utah Temple

Today I was able to go to the Payson Temple Open House with my in-laws and it was so cool. Colton was working so I had to go and represent. It reminded me so much of the Gilbert Arizona Temple. I LOVED the Gilbert Arizona Temple and this one is beautiful too! It is so big! I can't wait to go there when in opens. We truly are lucky to have temples so close to us.

Graduation

Happy Graduation Zach! My step brother graduated today from BYU and I was able to be there to cheer him on! I can't believe he has graduated and I am so proud of him! He is off to med school in August now in Colorado. It was great to hang out with my Dad and Deb for the day and so glad that my Grandma and Grandpa Wood and Aunt and Uncle could come today too! I got to meet his girlfriend too and she was super nice! I would have to say today has been a pretty good day! Congrats Zach!

We Don't Have a Roof!

Today has been so windy, parts of I 80 are closed because semi trucks are being blown over. Shortly after I heard this on the news, the roof on our apartment blew off because the wind was so bad! I was just laying on the couch watching tv when I heard this big crinkle noise. It is kind of hard to describe the sound exactly, it just happened so fast I didn't really know what was going on. I went to the window to find the tin laying on the ground. So, I go outside to find Colton and he says that the tin on the turkey barns are coming up so he went to go fix those with his Dad and brother in the storm. The wind is blowing so hard at this point you can barely see 20 feet in front of you. I saw this light coming from upstairs so I head up there and find out not only did the tin blow off but it took the wood, beams, and insulation with it! I couldn't believe it. Our roof was gone and insulation was blowing everywhere! Thankfully it only took the roof off of the storage room and the garage. We moved all the bins and stuff that we thought would maybe get ruined in the storm into the spare bedroom. Not only did the wind blow sand and dirt into our apartment but then it started to rain! So, we had to run to the hardware store to buy tarp to try and cover things up the best that we could. This has been so crazy! I am glad we are all safe but this is going to be a big mess cleaning all of this up now.

Lambs

It is that time of year where all the sheep in our valley are lambing especially in Fountain Green. With that being said, you get some lambs that don't take very well so they have to be bottle fed or they won't make it. Colton loves the lambs and just HAD to get some. He loves to watch them climb rocks, jump, and run around like crazy. So, we are now parents of 9 little lambs! I have no idea what I am getting myself into. I told Colton this is his job, he was the one who wanted them so he has to take care of them! Tonight is going to be long with all the baa's. They are cute though so I guess they have that going for them. =)

New Furniture

It is always fun and exciting to get new furniture and we were in need of a new bedroom set. Last July we had bought a King size bed and we were using a Queen headboard so it wasn't working out too well. Colton didn't think we "needed" a new one but I finally talked him into one almost a year later! I spent many hours trying to decide what one I liked and stuck with one that I had liked first and I have to say I am pleased with my purchase. It is so nice to get things a little more organized and when we eventually move into a more permanent house we will have furniture. The delivery men came today and hauled everything upstairs for me but then left me in a mess. They were suppose to haul the boxes off too but oh well, I'm glad we could just burn them all out here on the farm. I'm so excited for our new bed, I love it! It was well worth the wait to find what I wanted!

Wedding!

Jake and Karina's wedding was this weekend and Colton and I were so glad we could be apart of their special day. Colton and I left Thursday afternoon so we could be there for the festivities on Friday. The wedding party (minus Colton and Jake) all got our nails done Friday afternoon and then had a dinner at a yummy bbq place with family. Saturday was the perfect day! The weather was so nice, the temple ceremony was beautiful, and the reception was so much fun! I got to see some people that I haven't seen in several years so that was so much fun! My fourth grade teacher came and my beehive teacher was there with her husband who use to be in our ward at church when I was 4! That is one thing I love about weddings is seeing people that I haven't seen in a long time! I was also so happy to see my best friend, her husband, and their sweet baby girl! I wish I had more time to spend with her but that will have to be another trip where things aren't so busy!  I was so happy that my mom and both sets of my grandparent's could make it to the wedding. I don't see them very often and I loved having all the family together.

I am beyond excited and happy for Jake and Karina. I have known Karina for quite some time now and we were best friends in high school.  She was one of my bridesmaids for my wedding and now she is part of the family! I never thought in a million years I would have her as a sister in law but I couldn't be happier about that. I love her and Jake both and can't wait for them to grow together and see what the future brings them.  I love you both! Congrats on your special day!

Best friends for over 10 years.  Love this girl!

Love my family!

I have the best brother in the world!

The happy couple. I love you both!

Love this pic. It shows my true personality! ;)

My Boys

I love these two boys of mine. Bo had to come with us to feed the cows and this is where he sits the entire time! He loves Colton what can I say?! He was starting to drive a Colton a little crazy though. He said it's too hard to steer with him sitting right there and kept pushing him off but ended up right back in his lap! How can you say no to Bo's sweet face?

Date Night

I think going to the temple is the best kind of date night. I get to be with the one I love in such a special place. The Manti temple really is pretty and so beautiful when it is lit up at night! I'm so glad we were able to go tonight.

Snowmobiling Trip

Every year we go snowmobiling with my family over Presidents Day weekend. I always love this trip and we always have so much fun. This year was a little bit different because there was no snow at the cabin and there is always snow! We did find enough snow to go sledding up the canyon a little bit but still there wasn't very much and there was no powder. Colton was really bummed about the no powder because that's what he loves. He still had fun though but a family trip wouldn't be complete without someone breaking their sled which had to be Coltons! He bent his upper a arm but glad there was one in Logan that we picked up so he could go riding one more day. I would say this was another fun and successful year!

Our Little Bo

Colton has been going up in the hills almost every day this past week and has been taking bo because Colton really wants him to be a hunting dog. He found a shed and has been letting bo play with it and chew on it to get him use to them. He is such a cute puppy and he has been so good!

New Toy

Colton got the best late Christmas present that he will probably ever get, a new snowmobile! He has been looking on the computer for some good deals but just couldn't quite find anything that he really liked. His friend from town told him about this one guy and that he was selling his snowmobile. Colton got really interested and took me with him to go look at the sled. Well Colton loved it and wanted it so being the best wife ever I said yes! So this new machine is a few years newer than the one he has, looks the same, but has a turbo on it. I may be making a mistake letting him get a turbo but he had a grin on his face from ear to ear the whole night. So hopefully this new sled will be worth it! Colton went sledding today and came home with some great stories and some great videos on his go pro. As I was watching the videos I found one thing in common in all of them which was Colton airways being vertical on the sled instead of horizontal! Oh man what have I done?!
